Remarkable developments in genome editing are revolutionizing medicine and agriculture as large animal genomes can be modified with sophistication and efficiency previously achievable only in the mouse.
This technology allows improvement in livestock production traits, agricultural animal health and welfare, and the generation of refined large animal models for biomedical applications.
The summit brings together reproductive biologists, geneticists, molecular biologists, animal model developers, preclinical and clinical researchers, and representatives of federal research and regulatory agencies.
The Large Animal Genetic Engineering Summit will provide updates on genetic engineering technologies, including genome editing, and their biomedical and agricultural applications in academia and industry.
The summit is organized biennially and draws presenters and participants from around the world. The 2022 summit will be in Park City, Utah, a destination mountain resort even after the ski season ends.
Registration includes a welcome dinner on Sunday, June 5, from 6-8 p.m., all conference sessions, a full breakfast each morning of the conference, lunch on Monday and Wednesday, and refreshment breaks.
